USO Highlights 2010

USO MD Stephen Hussey conducted the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra (QPO) with Nitin Sawhney for Thow of Dice in Dohar and Sydney, Australia, as part of the Parramasala Festival.

Stephen Hussey conducted the BBC National Orchestra of Wales for the soundtrack of the BBC 1 series, Human Planet .

The Jinks 'What Happened to Us' released. Strings Arranged by Stephen Hussey and recorded by the Urban Soul Orchestra.

USO Recording session for Nitin Sawhney's composition for Sony Playstation's "Enslaved".

Arranged and performed at Westfield's "Greatest Fashion Show on Earth" supporting Naomi Campbell's Fashion For Relief Campaign and the White Ribbon Alliance to raise funds for mothers and babies in Haiti.

USO MD Stephen Hussey conducted the Metropole Orchestra with Nitin Sawhney as part of the Traces Festival in Holland (The Proms Show and A Throw Of Dice).

'Whitechapel' was screened on ITV1 throughout February. Music composed by Ruth Barratt, orchestrated by Stephen Hussey. Alesha Dixon's single 'Breathe Slow' reached no.3 in UK top 40 chart, featuring the strings of the Urban Soul Orchestra arranged by Stephen Hussey. Release of Nitin Sawhney's single 'My Soul' featuring the vocals of Paul McCartney, and the strings of the Urban Soul Orchestra. USO in New Zealand as part of People In Your Neighbourhood. USO played at WOMAD. USO also recorded at the Redbull Studio in Auckland with NZ artists The Nomad, Solaa and Bohemian Thought.

Stephen Hussey interviewed by Radio 1 DJ Ras Kwame for London Songwriters Week panel.

Urban Soul Orchestra performed with Bashy at the Launch Event for Young London Into Music. In June Stephen also performed with The Noisettes at Koko and Glastonbury and USO recorded strings for Leona Lewis' latest album.

USO enjoyed a writing collaboration with USO vocalists Renn and Fola which led to a performance in Brixton on July 18th.

British Council received a special award from the Human Rights Commission in recognition for their outstanding contribution to positive race relations, for the project, "People in Your Neighbourhood" featuring USO.

Stephen played with the Britten Sinfonia; at the Cafe De Paris and also worked with film composer Erran Baron-Cohen.

USO performed at the Launch of the film "Nine" at Claridges, followed by Beverly Knight and the Noisettes. Stephen conducted the Il Divo Xmas Tour in London (featuring the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra), Paris (Eiffel Tower) Toronto and across the U.S.A.
