Meet Our Team

Stephen is the Founder, Director and Conductor of USO. 

His Zimbabwean-English heritage has engendered a deep affinity with a diverse range of musical styles and he specialises in projects that bridge different genres and cultures.

His passion for music began at an early age and he studied violin and piano at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, as well as film composition with Amit Sen.

Stephen’s professional career began as a member of the Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra and he has since gained an impressive reputation playing, arranging, orchestrating and conducting ground-breaking projects both in the UK and internationally.

He has collaborated with some of the Industry’s finest artists to create many iconic recordings and award-winning projects, including Nitin Sawhney, Soul II Soul, Robert Miles, Take That, Nightmares On Wax, Octave One, Maxi Priest, Liam Gallagher.

As well as a music degree, he undertook a post graduate course in music performance and orchestral management resulting in a placement with the BBC Symphony Orchestra under the mentorship of the General Manager. 

His career has also encompassed the luxury sales industry, working for gold labels including Gianmarco Lorenzi; guiding Celebrity Stylists with their press samples for global performances and appearances. 

He later became a VIP consultant for Selfridge’s in London working closely with the brand’s VIP clientele, before joining USO in 2015.

Mandy Weston - Events Co-ordinator

Mandy trained as an actor, singer and dancer at GSA in Surrey, and has performed professionally at the Royal National Theatre, The Comedy Theatre and the Lyric Theatre in London’s West End, as well as in television, radio and film productions.

She co-founded a successful theatre company and produced several critically acclaimed theatre productions in London and has also produced audio products for a wide range of clients including Audible and Netflix. She has a degree in archaeology from UCL and joins excavations in Europe and the UK in her spare time.

Mandy joined USO in 2022.
