The USO Swing Band is a full live big band, bringing together up to a nine-piece horn section, a rhythm section of keys, bass, drums and guitar, strings, two lead vocalists and conductor. Every arrangement is performed entirely live, creating the scale, warmth and energy of a true big band. 

Our repertoire spans the greats of swing, Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole and the Rat Pack alongside cinematic favourites from Bond to The Pink Panther, creating a set with something for every generation.

Under the musical direction of Stephen Hussey, the Swing Band brings the scale, sophistication and unmistakable energy of a classic big band to the room.

The Swing Band is built in two sizes, and every configuration is performed live.

• 20-piece: string quartet, keys, bass, drums, guitar, 9 horns, 2 vocalists, conductor
• 24-piece: string octet, keys, bass, drums, guitar, 9 horns, 2 vocalists, conductor

The Swing Band is made for wedding receptions, awards dinners, gala evenings and milestone celebrations, bringing the atmosphere and occasion of a classic big band to the room. Equally at home in an elegant ballroom, marquee or on a grand stage, the line-up can be tailored to suit the scale of the event.

It also pairs beautifully with a more understated ensemble earlier in the day, allowing the music to build naturally as the celebration moves into the evening.

The Swing Band often forms the centrepiece of a wider day of music, with a more understated ensemble for the ceremony, drinks or dinner before the full band takes over for the evening.

Keeping everything within one team allows the music to flow naturally throughout the event, while booking multiple ensembles together also offers better value than arranging each element separately.
